As of late...

Well, we haven't been up to anything too crazy but we have been enjoying ourselves. The weather is gorgeous and we have had a lot of visits to Bowness park to see the ducks and go on the swings. It is  great having friends and family close by to do such fun things last minute! Jacob of course is growing so fast. A few weeks ago I bought him some new church shoes, tried them on at the store and they fit great! Perfect, he won't look like a ghetto child at church now. So I went to put them on, it wasn't the Sunday right after, but the one after that, and nope, they didn't fit anymore. SERIOUSLY? Needless to say I haven't tried to buy them again and he is back to wearing his sandals. I am so sorry mom, I don't know if you would approve of that but I just can't keep up to it sometimes! haha! Then I was going through his clothes this morning and cleaning out drawers, moving clothes so that he could wear them and I was looking at his jeans for the next year,..and yes I somehow bought 3 of the exact same pair of jeans from Children's Place. I know I only paid probably like $4 for each, but 3 pairs? So, he may look like he is wearing the same thing but I do promise he does have more than 1 pair of pants. SO that is my post today. Here are  couple of pictures of the past few weeks. Love all the kiddies in them :)

My dearest baby Jacob...

Dear Jacob,


This is going to be full of sap, but I had to come write it all down before all these emotions dwindled away. You were crying, you must have missed me. I got you out of your crib and cuddled you. You laid your little head on my shoulder and calmed down a bit. I decided since I was working today that I would just lay down on the floor with you in my arms and get comfy for a bit. As you laid on me and I stared at the ceiling, I thought to myself how small we are in the grand scheme of things, but how this was the best moment of my day, by far. In fact, the best moment in a long time. Not that I have super bad moments, but this one I just needed to tell you about. I love you, and laying there in your little room made me think just how lucky I am to be your mom. That you are mine, and that Heavenly Father trusts me with you and knows I will do everything I can, teach you everything I know to be right so that you can return safely to Him. There are days were you throw your food at every meal, where I don't know what you'll eat, or if you're going to eat, there are times when we are walking in public and you screech and I get weird looks, there are those moments too. I don't mind those moments, but the moments where I feel so small yet so big and important at the same time are the ones I love most. I feel important because you need me, I am your mom, and YOU are the most important little being to me. I am going to be more aware, so I can catch and remember those really special moments with you.

At the pond!

We had a great Canada Day weekend! Fun, friends, a bbq and the duck pond! Jacob loves ducks so we took him down to Bowness Park to feed them, he laughed the entire time! And even threw the bread in the water for them and almost, almost made it so the ducks could eat it! Great weekend where we had Derek almost all to ourselves so we can't complain at all! Happy Canada Day and we are SO lucky to live in this beautiful country!
