crying and screaming and birthday....oh my!

My baby woke up today....1 year old and a completely different child. huh...go figure, the change happened at exaaactly 1 year! He didn't want to have a morning nap....but eventually did. He didn't want to have an afternoon nap and he made sure he didn't. I went to go and put him laying down again about 3 times and the 4th time he was screaming not in a bad way but not in a happy way either and i saw him gnawing on his crib, seriously! CHEWING your CRIB? #1-sick. #2-you are my first child and this is new to me and it is sick. #3- I don't want the crib to look like i picked it out of the dumpster after just one kid. Give me a break! Derek arrived home just on cue and about as soon as he walked in the door I walked out to go to Toy's R us and find something to stop the gnawing. And i did. It is kind of make shift just due the the width of the crib bar but it works and looks a little less white trashy then something that looks like a dog got to it. My baby is a year and is kicking off this new year with a lovely new "screech" and possibly dropping the morning nap because if he dares drops the 2nd one I will have to be committed. I love my little guy but today was one of the days where I had TOTALLY planned on going to the gym, however instead I am watching the Bachelor and Derek has gone to get me my favourite, and Oreo blizzard with extra "stuff". Mmm...Happy Birthday Jacob. You are the sweetest little man I will ever know and love you to peices. A year has gone by so fast, SO fast and you are nothing but amazing to me every single day. He is in bed now,...isn't it easy to say such wonderful things when your baby is sleeping? ;)
