I cannot, absolutely cannot believe it is the middle of June,..JUNE! Like, as in half way through this year! So, since I am obviously not the most avid blogger (if you couldn't tell by my lack of posts...) I will do a quick little update. First things first....my Mid years resolution-to do a blog update at least once a month. So since the last post we have done some really fantastic things! Best of all we celebrated Jacob's 1st Birthday! I would post pictures however,...my laptop is with my husband in Vancouver. Sorry,..it was doing this now with no pictures when I thought about it or you would probably end up waiting a month for any post at all :) So, back to J's 1st Birthday, we had a fun family get together. Nana and Opa came in from Castlegar for it but unfortunately my mom was in Vancouver. We had a lovely time with pizza and cake and a presents. A wonderful, happy, fun day with the fam! Did I mention Jacob scarfed his face when it came to cake time?!? Who wouldn't? It was amazing, a friend from our ward was able to make it, not only was ait "Bee-autiful" (you will get that when you see the pics) but it was to die for! I want some more. Now.
We also took a trip to Mexico. And although we got exactly what we paid for (we got a steal of a deal) we still enjoyed it! We had fun in the pool and enjoyed every single second of sun we could soak into our little white bodies. I am sad that the tan is fading actually. And CALGARY, this RAIN is NOT helping me get it back! Jeesh!
Right after Mexico my Mom and I were able to go to Las Vegas where we saw "The Mentalist" and "The Lion King". Both were fantastic, The Lion King more so, but the Mentalist was super entertaining. It blows my mind, I can imagine that is there goal. Go check it out if you are ever there! We had a great time and although it was the first time I left Jacob I did ok. There wasn't much time to get sad anyway. I was thrilled to get home and see my babe again though, oh how I missed those sweet cuddles (they are rare, but we have them)
Ever since Elton John hit the stage in Regina, Derek has been super busy with work! Concerts, concerts and play-offs! So, he has been out of town frequently working hard. We are very proud of all that he does for our family and are so glad he loves his job so much! Currently he is in Vancouver for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Series! It is "hoppin" there and he promises to send me pictures! We are hoping that Boston wins. Seriously. And it is crazy, because if Vancouver loses,...the city will riot! Dumb, dumbs...let's go destroy our own city. You're smart. I can't wait to see pictures of the fires they set! haha, I am totally kidding! (Still hoping Boston wins)
Pictures to come once my laptop flies home!
